Prosecuted for financial violations → Super-emergency for promotion

Leicester City are also on the verge of a point cut.

"Leicester City has been accused by the Premier League of violating spending rules in the Premier League for the last three seasons."

Leicester City, though they are no longer in the Premier League, are in danger of being questioned, just like Premier League clubs. Everton and Nottingham Forest have already been handed points off this season, with Everton receiving -10 points and Nottingham receiving -4 points.

Leicester City have been referred to the independent commission for violating revenue and sustainability rules (PSR) along with allegations of failing to submit audited financial records in the last three seasons of the league. If found guilty, Leicester City, who are currently second in the second division, could potentially receive a point deduction.

In addition, Leicester City are currently under investigation as part of a separate financial investigation conducted by the second tier. Leicester City issued a statement immediately in response to the Premier League's allegations.

They said: "Leicester City are surprised by the action taken by the Premier League today. The club is very disappointed that the Premier League has now decided to file a complaint against Leicester City despite the club's efforts to communicate constructively with the Premier League regarding the matter that has been the subject of this accusation, even though it is not currently a Premier League club."

They continued: "The club is determined and eager to work constructively with the Premier League and the Second Division to seek an appropriate solution to any potential allegations by the appropriate agency at the appropriate time. The club continues to seek careful advice on the club's position and, if necessary, will continue to defend the club against illegal activity if it seeks to exercise its jurisdiction where football authorities are unable to exercise jurisdiction, such as earlier this year."

They finally explained, "The club has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to complying with P&S regulations through its operational model for a considerable period of time and pursuing its sporting ambitions, but also to complying with fully reliable regulations given the consistent success achieved by the club at domestic and European tournaments. We will continue to represent the club's position, particularly in the fight for the right to pursue the ambitions of all clubs reasonably and fairly established through continuous sporting performance."

Leicester City now seem to be overwhelmingly top of the second tier by midway through the league, confirming their promotion to the Premier League. However, they have started to languish, having lost one win, one draw and three losses in their last five league games, eventually losing the top spot to Leeds United, which narrowed the gap to one point with Ipswich Town in third place.

In this situation, if Leicester City receives a point deduction, direct promotion could be dangerous with nine games left. 토토사이트
